DA Files Charges Against PXP!

Howdy friends and neighbors of the hills!

A victim of PXP
YEEHAW!!! Looks like there's justice in this world after all!  EGP News is reporting that the District Attorney has filed charges against Plains Exploration & Production (aka: PXP) for violating state water pollution laws!

DA Files Water Pollution Case Against PXP

The charges stem from the November 2010 spill which PXP plumb "forgot" to report to the California Office of Emergency Services.

The charges include 8 misdemeanor counts and an allegation that "the company broke water pollution laws by allowing the spill to happen."

Now don't that beat all?

Well, all I have left to say is a great, big THANK YOU to the following folk who brought this matter to the attention of the public:

1. The "un-named" vector control officer who found and reported the 2010 spill.
Can somebody puhleeze find out this feller's name?  I'd like to shake his hand!!!

2.  Reporter Elizabeth Chou of EGP News for sticking like glue to this story!!!

3.  Last, (but certainly NOT least!) the members of the Save the Montebello Hills Task Force, Sierra Club/Angeles Chapter for breaking this story to the media in the first place!!!!

 Good job everyone!

Daisy Mae
